Atlas Parade 03:55
There wasn’t a way out of this that was not through The use of the unconscious absolute And even though you’ll wake up from believing the truth Nature is not bound by men who are quick to persecute Qualities found were not of saving grace To walk in the woods alone and be unafraid When it comes time to climb the sky staircase Gravitate, hold on too, in the Atlas Parade It’s easier to navigate with phonics through the storm With the tools you were given on the day you were born Can’t take the chance to turn back when it’s so close Spoken unfounded rumor an anecdote The basis of this cry is often presupposed Reliable prowess lies underneath the throat It’s easier to navigate with phonics through the storm With the tools you were given on the day you were born

Cheeko 03:29
That summer rain is what we crave today The flooded streets became a rivulet Days of which I fear I’ve seldom seen, I’ve known so few I used to spend a week simply breathing in the air But any road followed to the end leads nowhere And I don’t think we’ll see the end A summer night becomes a street parade We’re breaking laws just for the revelry Days of which I fear we’ve seen again, I never knew I used to spend a week simply breathing in the air They’ll turn the rebels to fashion models right before your eyes And I don’t think we’ll see the end Looking back I would not change one thing Rolling care free in a top-down Jeep Days of which our sons may never see We never knew I used to spend a week simply breathing in the air They’ll turn the rebels to fashion models right before your eyes I don’t think we’ll see the end

Avenue F 04:41
You trod and you traipse along successfully You try but the feeling is wrong with everything Just see it Say have you ever walked past trail lights end? Jumped in a hollow to your death Nobody else, nobody else, go make a friend with yourself Believe you’ve got nowhere to find Lost in your own time Nobody else near. Today and it’s nearly gone, depressing me To be where the sun is warm amongst the trees Just healing Say have you ever walked past trail lights end? Jumped in a hollow to your death Nobody else, nobody else, go make a friend with yourself Believe you’ve got nowhere to find Lost in your time Nobody else near, realize, realign They’ve got lots there for you to find In a garden they’ll guard you for you to find

Snake Grease 03:30
Hey step inside those rusted gates They are crooked and maligned and there’s a thousand souls laid on hallowed ground Their corpses float in on the Charles and wind their way back to the town Is it mother buried in this earthen mound? I face a reaving, I know that I can never know my mindset On leaving I know that I can never know my mind Well they say you are the sword but I believe I am the pen Let me say the pen is learning while your out their claiming wins Gathered ‘round the might of those who claim the right I’m penning me a sonnet got ‘em fighting through the night I face a reaving I know that I can never know my mindset On leaving I know that I can never know my mind

Meet Me 03:24
Meet me tonight in New York City or Philadelphia Indigo children dressed up all pretty we’ll leave them when we’re done We’ll leave them when we’re done, we’ll leave them when we’re done And we can drive all night just to clear your mind until this travesty is gone And you can sleep the whole time let the road ignite dreams when you were young And I remember the day when you shook it away with your tattoo in the dark And it wasn’t long before you stepped out alone wearing nothing but your mark Looking through glasses that your eyes had left The tale of a lady and her miscontent You finished the story before you picked up the pen Meet me tonight in New York City or Philadelphia We can disappear under the lid of the gritty and drink ourselves undone We’ll drink ourselves undone, we’ll drink ourselves undone And we can dance all night to the songs you like until the sun comes up

about

It started as a reunion of friends during the holidays in December 2018. A year later we did the same thing and Brett played one of the songs he had written during our 15 year hiatus. It was called "Atlas Parade" and we immediately felt a connection to the music. We jammed acoustically and made him play a few more. Another was called "Meet Me". The music was captivating and the lyrics were powerful. We started talking about "us" and recording the songs remotely and the idea of being a band again. We didn't seem to have a choice. The music spoke for itself.

We started working in two teams: Brett and Kenny recorded guitars and bass in New Jersey, and then Chris and Mike recorded drums and vocals in Austin. Tracks were sent back and forth... and around it went. During the pandemic we worked more independently and even took a short break. When things seemed safer Mike finished recording Chris's vocals in his garage studio and went to a local studio to lay down the final drum tracks. Brett and Kenny finished recording their final parts, and the tracks were sent for mixing and mastering by really talented local Austin guys (Ryan Young and Erik Wofford). We made the cover artwork ourselves, pulling images of past and present together in a collage that represents 15 years of growth.

The next chapter of Daisy Haze has begun.
